Request

The operational procedures for accessing the infrastructure, according to the type of service for external users, are as follows:

  • If approved, issuance of a quote.

  • Following acceptance of the quote, signing of an agreement (contract or convention) between DiFi and the external user.

  • Final approval and service scheduling.

  • Access to the laboratory (external users are not allowed to use the equipment): registration, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and accompaniment.

Access to the IR

Access to the IR is regulated, prioritizing the use of the equipment for internal users and those in training for research and educational purposes (specialized laboratories, bachelor's and doctoral theses). Machine time is also allocated for scientific collaborations within projects, networks, and consortia in which UniGe participates. A total of 80% of machine time is reserved for internal users and scientific collaborations. The remaining 20% of machine time is dedicated to external users, including companies, other third-party entities, universities, and public research centers with which there are no ongoing collaborations.

All activities within the IR are recorded in the equipment usage log, where requests for future activities and the status of the machines for maintenance purposes are noted.

The safety provisions of the IR comply with the UNIVERSITY REGULATIONS FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE and the specific Risk Assessment Documents (DVR).

The availability of IR instrumentation for services to external users is planned alongside other activities based on incoming requests and the principle of efficient resource utilization.
